The Outward Bound Camp in Mazama closed its doors on January 1st bringing to an end the successful outdoor leadership program in the MethowValley.
Outward bound has taken more than 1 million people of all ages on adventures that build character, teach leadership skills and inspire a service ethic.
Josh Cole, director for Washington’s Outward Bound Program, said the program is more than just an outdoor camp.
Financial considerations played the lead role in the decision to close the Mazama Outward Bound school, but Josh expects the doors to open again in the future.
The Mazama property will be maintained by an onsite caretaker.
