Brewster Council Shelves Water Rights 1/6/2012
The Brewster Council had a tough decision to make at their last council meeting of 2011. Should the city accept new water rights made available through a partnership with the US Bureau of Reclamation and Washington State Department of Ecology or should they pass on the opportunity and risk losing access to those rights in the future?
 
Brewster Mayor, Lee Webster, says after waiting for additional water rights from the Department of Ecology for nearly 20 years the City’s water rights application was approved; however the approval wasn’t risk free.
 
Brewster City Council holds their regular board meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at Brewster city Hall. They meet next on Wednesday, January 11th @ 6 PM.
