The Okanogan County Republican Party is seeking resignations from newly appointed wildlife commissioner, Jay Kehne, as well as Okanogan County Commissioner, Andy Lampe.
The push stems from what the Republicans see as a conflict of interest surrounding Kehne’s employment with Conservation Northwest, an environmental group that supports wildlife conservation.
Teri Mishlinn, Okanogan County Republican Party Chairman, admits the issue focuses around the reintroduction of wolves to OkanoganCounty.
Kehne, who was appointed last month to the nine-member board, said he is being attacked based on his profession rather than his credentials.
The Okanogan County Republicans are also pushing for the resignation of Andy Lampe, who wrote a letter of support for Kehne’s appointment.
