Mansfield School District was recently awarded a Traffic Safety Grant through the Washington State Traffic Safety Commission to install flashing safety beacons to warn drivers of the upcoming school zone.

 

Adam Foged, Technical Support Director for Mansfield Schools, said the grant will fund up to $7500 and will improve student safety while commuting to and from school.

 

As part of the grant requirements, the beacons must be installed no later than March 17th with a follow up study to be conducted and submitted to the safety commission within one year.
