A Look At Gangs In Douglas County 12/28/2011
The year 2011 brought some high profile gang related cases to the area, so we caught up with Douglas County Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal to get his take on the issue.

Gjesdal said the good news is gang activity in DouglasCounty did not rise from previous years. He credits this to emphasis patrols and education to keep people informed on what gangs are doing, but he admits it is becoming more challenging.

Gjesdal adds that calls associated with possible gang activity is about average, and says his department will continue to keep an eye on gang activity in 2012.

It is a fact that we do have established gangs in our area; however reports show that most violence associated with gangs, tends to be gang on gang.
