The Future Farmers of America President for the state of Washington, Sami Jo Cool, is busy with her new routine, focused around making a positive difference in the lives of students be helping develop their potential for leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
FFA was founded in 1928 by 33 young farm boys in Kansas City. The organization has grown considerably and has had millions of members, nationwide over the years. Today, the organization is expanding the nation’s view of “traditional” agriculture and finding new ways to infuse agriculture into the classroom.
Sami, a 2011 graduate of ChelanHigh School, says becoming a state officer came naturally for her, but is proving to be a very busy schedule.
Sami adds that if you are considering participating in FFA, she recommends you jump in with both feet.
Sami is home in Chelan for the holidays and will hit the road again soon after the first of the year.
