The City of Brewster hit a snag, however in accessing that water and now will be holding a special meeting this Thursday to make some decisions on the matter.
Brewster Mayor, Lee Webster, says after waiting for additional water from the Department of Ecology for nearly 20 years the City of Brewster’s water rights application has been approved for up to 1,000 acre feet; however the city is not able to meet the requirements.
A special meeting will be held at 6 PM this Thursday at BrewsterCity Hall.
How much is an acre foot? It is defined as the amount of water needed to cover an acre of land one foot deep in water. That is just shy of 326,000 gallons of water.
