Chelan County Fire District 5 in Manson has removed their siren- for now.

 

Fire Chief Arnold Baker says the siren, which serves as a call for help from volunteer firefighters and other first responders to an emergency, began giving them trouble, prompting a little investigating from the department.

 

Chief Baker says most of the complaints his department hears center around the middle of the night alarms, so before the siren is put back in service, a timer will be installed, eliminating the night activations.

 

Chief Baker expects the siren to be back in operation by Spring.
