The County is currently in the process of updating the Outdoor Recreation Plan.  The Recreation Plan will guide project funding for the next 20 years, in part based on the outcomes of the survey. As the state, counties and cities face declining budgets, it is more important than ever to focus limited funding toward the greatest benefit to our community.  The recreation survey will help Okanogan County identify needs and level of service for existing facilities and future needs.
 
A Winthrop-based public meeting in early January (date TBA) will allow for greater detail in commenting.
 
As a non-profit organization, MVSTA relies on winter trail pass sales to cover 50-60% of our operating budget (depending on the weather) and public funding to make capital improvements such as bridge replacements, equipment (grooming machine) replacements and trailhead additions or improvements.
