The Winthrop Town Marshal is holding a public forum tonight to discuss recent evaluation surveys sent to residents of the town.
So, what exactly is a Marshal?
The term Marshal comes from the American Old West and describes sworn law enforcement officers that wear a badge, carry a weapon and make arrests.
David Dahlstrom (Doll-Strum), Winthrop’s Town Marshal, says that for Winthrop, choosing to call the law enforcement Marshals just fit with the western theme the town boasts. Dahlstrom says his office sent residents surveys and he is eager to get together at tonight’s public forum to discuss the result. That public forum will be held tonight at 6 pm at the Winthrop Barn.
