Bridgeport City Officials will be sifting through more than 20 applicants for the Deputy Clerks position. The position opened after Jean Hardee, long time Deputy Clerk and City Administrator for the City of Bridgeport, announced that she will be retiring at the end of this year.
Mayor Bill Zweigle says that the high number of applicants comes as a shock to him, saying he was expecting to see a dozen at the most.
