An internal investigation into possible misconduct by a Douglas County Sheriff Deputy has led to that deputy’s suspension.
An internal investigation into possible misconduct by a Douglas County Sheriff Deputy has led to that deputy’s suspension.
Deputy Scott Stokoe has been suspended without pay for one month, beginning November 12th.
The three reasons cited for his suspension were: driving to the residence of a female, located outside of Douglas County while on duty and allowing the same individual to ride in the patrol car and engaging in sexual activity on two occasions while on duty.
Douglas County Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal says Deputy Stokoe has been with his Department for eight years and that his conduct violates the spirit of his office.

Gjesdal says he expects Deputy Stokoe to return to his regular post in Bridgeport around the middle of December.
