67 year old William Gallagher of Manson was killed Saturday night in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 97A near Knapps Hill Tunnel.

Gallagher was pronounced dead at the scene of the 6:03 p.m. wreck, seven miles south of Chelan. According to the Washington State Patrol report Gllagher was driving south in a 2008 Ford Ranger pickup when his truck swerved across the northbound lane and left the roadway, then veered back to its own lane and rolled off the blacktop. The truck came to rest on the driver's side.

Troopers said Gallagher was previously involved in a single-vehicle crash attributed to a diabetic condition. Chelan County sheriff's deputies said in that wreck, Gallagher fell asleep at the wheel and struck a utility pole. It is unknown what caused Saturdays accident the WSP report states “wheels off the roadway” and that Mr. Gallagher was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
