As you pack away your summer shorts and replace them with your winter coats and scarves, Washington State Department of Transportation is urging you to prepare your vehicle for the season as well.

Fiman adds that it is a good idea to program 530 AM and 1610 AM on your radio before you start your winter drive. The DOT operates automated weather and traffic reports on those frequencies on all the major mountain passes. The DOT also encourages everyone to print the winter driving guide available at their website www.wsdot.wa.gov.
