Washington State Legislators will meet in Olympia later this month in Special Session to address another budget shortfall, this time it’s an estimated $2 billion dollars. When Governor Chris Gregoire unveiled her budget proposal last week it included eliminating state healthcare for the poor, halving school levy equalization to poor school districts, slashing higher education budgets and shortening supervision time for convicts. Governor Gregoire says this is a revenue issue and there is plenty of blame to go around."CLICK HERE" for Audio

Governor Gregoire says she plans to submit her final supplemental budget proposal at the upcoming special session, scheduled to get underway on the 28th of this month.
