At last weeks Chelan City Council meeting, councilmember’s voted to enact a moratorium on medical marijuana grows and dispensaries in the City of Chelan. The temporarily ordinance prohibits medical marijuana grows and dispensaries in the City of Chelan for six months as the city studies the issue.
City Administrator Jim Reinbold says the council first visited the idea of implementing a moratorium in May due to uncertainties of what the state legislature was going to decide regarding medical marijuana distribution."CLICK HERE" for Audio
In other city business, the council wrapped their budget workshops, and according to Reinbold, the City of Chelan’s budget is in good order.

The Council meets regularly on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, their next meeting Thursday, November 10th.
A special council meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday November 9th for staff to give an update on the Don Morse Park Shoreline Restoration Project.
