With Halloween just a few days away, KOZI is hoping these safety tips from the State Fire Marshal will be useful.
According to State Fire marshal Charles Duffy, following these safety precautions can prevent fires, helping to ensure safety.
Make sure all costume clothing, including wigs and props are labeled “flame-resistant” or “flame-retardant,” keep any dried flowers, cornstalks, and crepe paper away from all open flames and heat sources, and use flashlights or glow sticks instead of candles or torch lights.
Duffy also adds to keep all exits clear of decorations to be sure nothing blocks escape routes, and be sure children know to Stop, Drop and Roll in the event their clothing does catch fire.
KOZI also caught up with District 7 Fire Chief, Tim Lemon for a few other tips and a special invite to trick-or-treaters to the Chelan Fire Station."CLICK HERE" for Audio
We hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween this year, and don’t forget to stop at the KOZI tent in downtown Chelan during the “Downtown Trick-or-treating Extravaganza” from 5 PM – 7 PM Monday evening.
