RiverCom, as well as all emergency dispatch services on a national level, are in for some big changes as the future of 911 calls will be undergoing some updates.

And Ter-a-pelly adds that although dispatch centers knew this change was necessary, the federal government did not jump on board until after the Virginia Tech shootings.
