Minimum Wage 10/11/2011
Minimum wage will be raised to $9.04 in Washington State beginning January 1, 2012. The minimum wage is adjusted each year to account for inflation.

Regional Labor Economist, Mark Bareth (Bare-eth), tells us about how this wage increase will affect the local economy."CLICK HERE" for Audio

Bareth adds that there are several industries that will be the most impacted by the minimum wage increase, and gives us some numbers for those jobs. Bareth also gives us his overall take on this raise, is it a good thing, or a bad thing?

The current minimum wage for the state of Washington is $8.67, and after the increase to $9.04, the state will continue to have the nation’s highest minimum wage.
