Brewster School District will host its first ever LEAP Student Leadership Forum on Saturday, October 15.
LEAP stands for Latino Education Achievement Project and aims to improve academic achievement of Latino and Latina students in Washington State.
LEAP holds an annual three day conference each year in Tacoma and Olympia with speakers such as Governor Christine Gregoire, Governor Gary Locke, US Senator Patty Murray, US Senator Maria Cantwell and many more.
For the first time, LEAP has decided to hold a smaller workshop and forum on the east side of the state, and has chosen Brewster to host this event.
Superintendent Eric Dreissen tells us a little more about this conference and the impact it will have on Brewster students."CLICK HERE" for Audio
KOZI will be interviewing the Brewster students involved in the planning and execution of this student leadership forum and will have that story for you tomorrow.
