Columbia River Drug Taskforce members raided a home in south Chelan near Riverview Cemetery last week and arrested Joseph Amendolare on suspicion of manufacturing marijuana. The residence where the raid was executed is located in Chelan County, but just outside of the City Limits of Chelan.
Taskforce spokesman, Sergeant Chris Forman, tells us how the plants were discovered and why the arrest was made."CLICK HERE" for Audio
Forman said a valid medical marijuana card allows each cardholder to cultivate 15 plants; however the Drug Taskforce found around 100 plants at the residence. Forman explains the law and requirements to be in compliance with the state law.

Federal law does not allow for individual use of medical marijuana. Amendolare is awaiting a decision from the Chelan County Prosecutors Office as to whether formal charges will be filed.
The Colombia River Task force includes officers from the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, Wenatchee Police Department and Washington State Patrol.
