All crews will be demobilized from the Washington Creek Fire. Three local fire engine crews will patrol the fire for the next week checking for any smoke that may appear, particularly in the steep rocky bluff area in the interior of the fire area.
Incident Commander Dave Brown and all members of the Type 3 team thank local agencies, businesses and the public for their help and support during the duration of the Washington Creek Fire.
There were no injuries or accidents that occurred during the fire. The cause of the fire was determined to be recreational target shooting.
The 260-acre Washington Creek Fire, located 6 miles northeast of Chelan, started Monday, August 1 and was fully contained on Wednesday, August 3.
