WVC Athletic Director Leaving 6/27/2011
In other WVC news….. Wenatchee Valley College vice president of student development and athletic director Marco Azurdia has accepted the position of executive director of the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges.

The NWAACC is the governing body for athletics of 34 community colleges in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia, including WVC. Azurdia said his last day at WVC will be July 28, after which he will relocate to Vancouver, where the NWAACC offices are located.

Azurdia has served at WVC for 20 years in various positions, including fitness center coordinator, instructor, multicultural affairs coordinator, director of enrollment, men’s basketball assistant coach, and women’s basketball head coach.

He amassed 220 wins as women’s basketball coach, leading the Knights to multiple league titles and seven Championship Tournament appearances.
