Waterville and Mansfield Mayors Have Something in Common 6/10/2011
There’s something to be said about longevity, especially in the political arena. Just ask the mayors of Waterville and Mansfield in Douglas County. Royal Devaney and Tom Snell have over 40 years combined experience in running their tiny farm communities, a feat that’s hard to accomplish. And it appears the two longtime mayors aren’t ready to hang up their gavels yet.

It’s a labor of love and a passion for public service for the two longest tenured elected officials in North Central Washington. Those are the primary reasons both Mayor’s have decided file for re-election.

Royal Devaney is running for reelection in Waterville, while in Mansfield its pretty much the same story for Mayor Tom Snell. And it appears that both are shoo-ins to be returned to City Hall for another term. As of yesterday both were running unopposed.
