Grand Coulee Dam Spilling Too Much Water? 5/31/2011
There have been reports that Grand Coulee Dam managers are spilling so much water to make room for massive late-season snowmelt that they're unleashing deadly gas bubbles that are killing hundreds of thousands of fish in the Columbia River.

Keith Trescott, Chelan County PUD’s top fish biologist, compared the situation to fish suffering from the bends. Rocky Reach and Rock Island dams haven’t suffered any mortality of fish so far.
