Town Toyota Default Concerns Commissioners 5/5/2011
Douglas County Commissioners are watching with interest as wrangling over how to best plug a gaping hole in finances for the Regional Public Facility District continues. The County is one of nine jurisdictions that comprise the Regional PFD that owns Town Toyota Center.

The Wenatchee City Council recently approved approaching a judge to determine if the amount owed can be covered by city backed bonds, or if it exceeds the city’s debt capacity, which could lead to a default on the loan. Ken Stanton says he and the rest of the Commissioners are concerned about how a possible default on the arena’s construction loan could impact the County financially.
