Rumors on Face Book of a huge party taking shape at Chelan’s Riverwalk Park on Memorial Day weekend have caught the attention of the Chelan PUD, which issues permits for the park.

The original plan was for music and a fashion show, but the organizers’ Face Book posting is now talking about (quote) “a huge party ALL DAY LONG and to invite all your friends to this event.” The new line up apparently includes a dozen hip hop artists and over 2,000 people have responded to the invitation.

The PUD’s Parks Manager Ray Heit says the organizers have filed for a permit for that weekend, however if it grows beyond its original scope, they would add conditions for insurance, law enforcement and security.

Heit says they’ll be keeping in contact with the organizers, and that in extreme circumstances, permits for events have been pulled in the past.
