Special Olympics Plan to Stay in Wenatchee 5/2/2011
After weeks of speculation and turmoil, Special Olympics Washington has announced they plan to keep the Winter Games in Wenatchee, and that plans to put the 3-day event out for competitive bid have been called off.

The Board of Directors have agreed in principal to a long term agreement to retain Wenatchee as the Winter Games host city. Ratification of the contract is expected when the governing board meets May 19th.

The Special Olympics annually attracts 15-hundred athletes, their families and supporters and generates about 800-thousand dollars in taxable sales each year.
