Hamilton Youth Foundation Scholarships 4/25/2011
The Hamilton Youth Foundation has awarded nine $800 scholarships for 2011. This year’s recipients include Danyelle Cavadini of Bridgeport and Sammi Jo and Tucker Cool of Chelan.

The Hamilton Youth Foundation was created by Hamilton Farm Equipment in 1992 as a way to “Educate, support and promote Okanogan, Chelan, & Ferry County youth who are involved in agriculture and natural resource endeavors”.

Funding for the Foundation comes primarily from a percentage of Hamilton Farm Equipment’s Sales

The foundation is directed by a Board of Directors representing a broad spectrum of Okanogan and Chelan County agriculture and vocational education. The current board members are: Kevin Amsden (Vocational Ag Instructor, Manson), Roy Hamilton (Retired Extension Agent & Fruit Grower, Belvedere), Jerry Asmussen (Cattle Rancher, Tonasket), Carrie Fink (Teacher, Winthrop), Edd Townsend (Cattle Rancher, Okanogan), Julie Pyper (Grant County PUD, Ephrata), Diane Thornton (Orchardist, Tonasket), Gaylord Schank (retired Educator, Winthrop), Chuck Goldmark (Wheat and Cattle Rancher, Okanogan) and Greg Hamilton (Hamilton Farm Equipment, Okanogan).
