Ray Dobbs has joined North Cascades National Bank at the Chelan branch located at 220 Johnson Avenue. Dobbs will support the bank’s marketing efforts, working directly with customers and prospects to develop business and emphasize the bank’s community involvement. “Ray’s passion for our community, experience as a local business owner, and dynamic attitude make him a perfect fit for our company,” said chief executive officer Scott Anderson.
After serving four years in the Navy, Dobbs earned a degree in Advertising at San Jose State University. He began his career as sales manager for a large group of weekly newspapers in San Jose, California and then spent a year in Portland, Oregon completing a graduate level Bible/Doctrine program at Multnomah Bible College. In 1976, Dobbs and his wife Kathryn (Kelly’s Resort) moved to her hometown of Chelan and Dobbs began a 20 year career at KOZI Radio. He worked on-air, sold advertising, managed sales, and eventually managed the station for former owner Jerry Isenhart. After forming and managing an Airtouch (Verizon) Cellular agency as a part of KOZI Radio, Dobbs purchased the cell phone division and opened Raycom RadioShack which under his ownership evolved into a multi-faceted technology center. Dobbs sold the company in January 2011.
Dobbs currently serves as a Planning Commissioner for City of Chelan and as treasurer of the Historic Downtown Chelan Association. He is on the Board at Little Stone Church and has five adult children and seven grandchildren.
