Dawn Davies has been appointed as the new executive director of the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society after serving on the Humane Society’s 10-member board for three years.
Davies plans to launch a fundraising campaign to build a new shelter, saying, “The facility is worn out, and is not an ideal situation for people or animals.”
Before she was hired at the Humane Society, Davies was a senior sales executive for Denali Advanced Integration, a Redmond-based technology company. Davies also worked as the assistant general manager for Wenatchee Valley Mall.
Davies and her husband, Philip Heideman, moved to Wenatchee from Snohomish in May 2003. They live on 5 acres in Sunnyslope with four horses, three dogs and a cat.
Davies’ first day is May 1. She replaces Stephanie Manriquez, also a former board director, who resigned last month after nearly two years on the job.
