Prescribed Burn Season Has Arrived 4/21/2011
The prescribed burning season is upon us, which means isolated columns of smoke popping up throughout the area forests. Chelan District Ranger,Bob Sheehan, says prescribed burns are credited with reducing the intensity of several recent fires in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National forests.

Sheehan says the burns serve another valuable purpose, rebalancing an eco-system that has been artificially deprived of fire. You can expect prescribed burns to continue as long as the cooler, damper spring weather permits.
