Wenatchee Wants Special Olympics Winter Games 4/18/2011
The financial gap separating the Special Olympics Winter Games and Wenatchee, the host city for the past 20 years, has been narrowed to 20 thousand dollars. Roger Klute with the Wenatchee Convention Bureau announced Thursday that he intends to recommend that funding be made available through the local Tourism Promotion Fund.

Klute’s announcement came during a meeting attended by about 50 interested community members who gathered to brainstorm ideas on how to keep the games in Wenatchee and raise the necessary to money to accomplish that.
