At last Thursdays meeting, a divided Chelan City Council approved an alternative to roundabouts at the Sanders and Emerson intersections on Johnson Avenue. After years of debate, City Administrator Jim Reinbold says the issue was decided by a 4 to 3 vote in favor of what’s called option B-2.

Reinbold says the project now heads toward the design phase. The B-2 Option includes a grass median down the center of Johnson Avenue, corner bulb-outs for pedestrians and enhanced crossings.
