Douglas County Commissioners are close to appointing a new representative to the Public Facilities District board. Douglas County appoints one person to the seven member board, which oversees ownership and operation of the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee. The city of Wenatchee is responsible for appointing four board members. Chelan County and the city of East Wenatchee each appoint one of the remaining three board members.
The four governments, as well as the cities of Chelan, Cashmere, Entiat, Rock Island and the town of Waterville make up the nine municipalities that jointly own the Town Toyota Center.
Douglas County Commissioners received only two applications for the volunteer position, Central Washington Hospital Financial Analyst Wayne Hawks and Rudy Mueller who is a CPA and retired accountant for the county road department.
Douglas County’s previous representative, Doug Poole, resigned before his term expired. The appointed replacement will fill Poole’s unexpired term through June 1, 2014. The board hopes to decide on the appointment in the next two weeks.
