Special Olympics Still Uncertain For Wenatchee 4/9/2011
While Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort General Manager Mark Millette says he doesn’t want to lose the Washington State Special Olympics Winter Games, he maintains the ski hill can’t continue to absorb all of the costs of the event. However, Millette says he’s willing to work with special Olympics and the community in efforts to bring the games back in 2012:

The Special Olympics this week announced that they were considering dropping Wenatchee as the host city for the winter games because Mission Ridge was no longer going to donate the cost of lift tickets for the three-day event. But Millette explains the ski hill can’t afford that luxury anymore given the current economy.
