Wapato Heritage Lease Flawed? 4/6/2011
Members of the Mill Bay Resort Association are looking to a judge to reverse a series of decisions that have come down against the group in relation to its continued use of land on property owned by Wapato Heritage LLC.

The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a ruling last month in U.S. District Court from two years ago determining that the most recent lease extension given to Mill Bay RV Resort was flawed.

As a result, Chairman of the Colville Tribes, Michael Finley, claims the RV owners remain on the land without a legal lease or sublease.

However, Mill Bay Members Association spokesperson Paul Grondal disagrees, and says a stay prohibiting the removal of the RV park has been put in place that it could remain in place until the issue is settled, which, in his estimation, could take years.
