The CEO of the world’s largest aerospace and Defense Company traveled to Olympia last week to meet with Governor Christine Gregoire and State Legislators to discuss doing business in Washington State.
Boeing Chief Executive Officer, James McNerney, told Legislators that Boeing is committed to domestic manufacturing and states are competing with each other for their business. Wenatchee Representative Cary Condotta said the news from Boeing was positive but McNerney had another message for Washington State.. it’s expensive to do business here.
Condotta, the ranking Republican on the Labor & Workforce Development Committee, says cutting government red tape to make it easier for employers to create jobs in Washington is critical. Adding he believes we can work in partnership with employers to create a business environment that invites companies to do business in Washington State and at the same time save taxpayers money.
