Yesterday’s Okanogan Douglas Hospital Board Meeting, originally intended to deal with a possible reduction in force, was punctuated by a surprising development as board chair Larry Higbee announced the resignation of the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer Dale Polla.
When asked about a timeframe for finding a new CEO, board chair Higbee and other members said it is more important to make the right choice, not just a quick one.
In other business, the board agreed to cut Quorum, the hospital’s management support company’s budget by half; change the business office’s hours to 9 a.m. thru 4 p.m.; use electronic pay stubs; discuss moving Dr. Eric Hager to the hospital; and to continue the discussion about closing the Mansfield Clinic.
