Swinford Murder Trial Postponed 3/22/2011
Attorneys for both sides have agreed to postpone the trial of Chelan murder suspect Steven Swinford. Yesterday defense attorney Jeremy Ford and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Doug Shae told Chelan County Superior Court Judge T.W. “Chip” Small some police and forensic reports from the incident weren’t yet in hand.

Swinford had been set to go to trial April 5th on a charge of second-degree murder in the January 28th shooting death of his longtime friend Paul Raney. A new trial date will be set at a March 28th preliminary hearing.

Swinford is accused of shooting Raney multiple times with a handgun at a house in Manson. A witness told Chelan County sheriff’s deputies the two quarreled over the use of an iPod docking station just before the early morning shooting.
