Labor Market Turns Corner for Chelan and Douglas County 3/10/2011
A key local economic indicator shows Chelan and Douglas counties on the road to recovery. Mark Berreth is the State Regional Labor Economist in Wenatchee and tracks the monthly jobless numbers in this area. HE says the January unemployment rate dropped to 10.1 percent: "CLICK HERE" for Audio

Going forward Berreth says he expects the labor market to improve into the spring and summer:

Meanwhile, January’s jobless rate improved to 13.4 percent in Okanogan County, Grant County registered a 13.3 percent unemployment rate also down from January of last year.
