Yesterday morning’s snowy weather put a temporary halt to the total closure of the Manson Highway for the Rocky Point scaling project.
Work on the highway eventually resumed at around 12:30 yesterday afternoon.
Usual hours for the closures are 8AM until about 4:30PM, with half hour openings at 10AM 12 Noon and 2 this afternoon
Assistant Project Engineer Chris Keifenheim (KIFE-en-hime) says crews are optimistic that the project can stay on track time-wise:

A detour using Boyd and Winesap Roads has been put in place, however, the road is unsuitable for busses and large trucks. They are encouraged to use the 30 minute planned openings of the highway.
