Job Growth in Washington Up 3/3/2011
The year is starting out strong for job growth in Washington, and January was the greatest month of job gains in over 3 years. The unemployment rate dropped from 9.3 to 9.1 percent, and the state gained some 11,000 jobs in January. That’s the most jobs added in a single month in over two years. Chief Economist David Wallace with Washington State’s Employment Security Department has been parsing the latest employment numbers: "CLICK HERE" for Audio

Wallace added that Washington has added more than twenty-thousand jobs since January of 2010. Chelan County figures are due next week.
