NCW Could Be Step Closer To Having Dedicated Farmers Market 3/1/2011
North Central Washington could be one step closer to having a dedicated facility for a farmers’ market, as Commissioners with the Port of Chelan County have given the green light to start the process of demolition at the site of the planned Pybus Public Market along Wenatchee’s Waterfront. Port Executive Director, Mark Urdahl announced Commissioners have approved planning and developing specifications in advance of soliciting bids for the demolition of the old industrial building that fronts the Pybus steel building on the waterfront near downtown Wenatchee: "CLICK HERE" for Audio

The project is a public/private endeavor involving the Port, the City of Wenatchee and a private developer.
Meanwhile the City of Wenatchee has been working with potential public market user groups to formulate a management plan for the facility, when and if it is developed. They’ll receive their next update in a special work session tomorrow.
