Entiat Development Moving Forward 2/23/2011
Entiat is a step closer to reclaiming its identity. The small town that was forced to relocate when Rocky Reach Dam was built in the 60's has been working for the past several years on plans to development its riverfront. The PUD agreed through its Federal Dam relicensing process to help Entiat make improvements, including a $6 to $7 million PUD upgrade to Entiat Park that will begin this year. Commissioners authorized the sale of about 12 acres of surplus property along the river to Entiat, along with easement rights on adjacent shoreline. property that will remain in the Utility District's possession.

Afterwards, Entiat Mayor Keith Vradenburg (VRAY-den-burg) was a happy man, saying it’s a major step forward for economic development for the community: "CLICK HERE" for Audio

Riverfront development on the PUD-owned property will still require plan approval by the Utility and the necessary permits issued by the city.
