Times Are Tough 2/15/2011
Times are tough all over. The economy continues to lag. Unemployment sits at 9.2%. If you’ve been looking for work, you know what we’re talking about. However the struggle to find a job is even harder for the state’s young people. Tim Sweeny of the Workforce Training and Coordinating Board says unemployment is usually about 3 times higher for young people, but it has pushed even higher with recent developments in the workforce.

Finding a job when you’re younger has always been a challenge. Now with many qualified and experienced candidates out there, even the battle for entry level jobs has become very competitive. However, Sweeny has tips for young applicants and employers alike:"CLICK HERE" for Audio
Sweeny is the lead author of a recent report for the Workforce Training and Coordinating Board that found that the tight economy has pushed the unemployment rate for young people to a whopping 18 to 36 percent.
