Over the years, the Chelan City Library has grown from a single room as part of the old school district building to its own building on Bradley near the ball fields. However the demands on the local library have also grown.

At last week’s Chelan City Council meeting, council members took another step toward expanding the present library’s facilities with a presentation and hearing on the Community Development Block Grant process regarding the Chelan Library expansion project.

C.C. Consulting is overseeing the block grant process for the library, and will assist with applying for the grant, reviewing community development and housing needs, and defining the availability of funds and what they can be used for.

The next Chelan City Council meeting will be Thursday February 24th.
