Manson Shooting: UPDATED AS OF MONDAY 01/31 1/28/2011
As the entire Chelan Valley tries to cope with the tragic shooting that occurred last Friday in Manson, more details are emerging as to a possible motive.

According to documents filed in Chelan County Superior Court at a bail hearing on Friday afternoon, an argument over an Xbox and an iPod escalated into the fatal shooting at a home on Wapato Way in Manson.

Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett identified the dead man as 22 year old Paul Raney, a 2006 graduate of Chelan High School. Burnett said Raney was shot multiple times in the chest with a handgun

Arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder is Steven Swinford, 20, of Chelan. On Friday, Superior Court Judge Lesley Allan set his bail at $1 million during a preliminary appearance. Swinford is being held in the Chelan County Regional Justice Center.

The young men in the house were friends and well known in the community. The story is tragic and disturbing… words cannot come close to explaining the pain. Our hearts and prayers go out to all the families involved… our community mourns.
