As we announced last week, past board president Gordon Lester has submitted his letter of resignation as a board member to the Lake Chelan Reclamation District. (Click here to see the letter in its entirety)
As for present issues facing the LCRD, Lester feels that the board still needs to move ahead on the matter of water relinquishment.
Another major issue involving compliance with the Bureau of Reclamation is water spreading, something Lester hopes will be resolved soon.
Lester feels that resolving the water relinquishment and spreading issues could go a long way toward the district’s compliance with the federal standards.
With the resignation this week of Operations Supervisor Brent Winters, the LCRD board will have a couple of openings to consider at their next meeting, Tuesday February 8th.
