The question of whether Wai Petersen will be offered a contract as Director Manson Parks will have to wait a little longer to get settled.

After almost and hour and a half in executive session, board member Pat Hautenne (hah-TEN) announced that after considering Petersen’s counter proposal, the board decided to send it to the lawyers for further consideration.

In a procedural maneuver, Manson park board members unanimously voted in November to terminate Petersen's contract and extend his wages and benefits for 30 days while they negotiated a new pact. That agreement has continued to be extended.

While board members did not act on Petersen’s contract at last week’s meeting, they expressed a desire to have the matter settled soon. The next Manson Park Board meeting is scheduled for February 10th.
